경찰이 3대특검(내란·김건희·채해병)으로부터 사건을 인계받고 본격적인 후속 수사에 착수했다.
경찰 관계자는 5일 정례 기자간담회에서 “(김건희특검으로부터) 사건번호 기준으로 144건을 인수해 피의자와 사건 내용·성격에 따라 재분류 중”이라며 “팀장을 포함해 40명 규모로 편성했고 추가 인력을 보강할 가능성도 있다”고 말했다.
김건희특검 잔여 사건을 넘겨받은 수사3팀 팀장은 경찰청 안보수사1과장을 맡고 있는 김우석 총경이 임명됐다.경찰청 국가수사본부는 김건희특검에 파견됐던 수사관 3명과 광역수사단 인력 등을 수사 3팀에 차출했다.
경찰은 144건 중 통일교 관련 사건에 대해 특별전담수사팀에 넘길지도 검토하고 있다.통일교 사건 관련 전담수사팀이 있는 상황에서 특수수사본부에 인계된 사건이 일부 있기 때문이다.해당 사건들이 남아 있는 경위 등을 확인한 뒤 전담수사팀 수사 내용과의 연관성을 따질 예정이다.
앞서 경찰은‘3대 특검 인계사건 특수본’을 꾸렸다.채해병특검 이첩 사건을 맡은 수사1팀은 14명,내란특검 담당인 2팀은 41명,수사지원팀은 14명이다.
채해병특검 사건을 맡은 1팀은 지난해 11월 사건 인계 뒤 현재까지 참고인 포함 18명을 조사했다.경찰은 피의자들에 대한 추가 압수수색 등 강제 수사를 검토 중이다.
내란특검 잔여 사건을 인계받은 2팀도 특검에서 넘겨받은 압수물을 면밀히 분석하고 이번주 중 고발인 등을 불러 조사할 방침이다.
한편 더불어민주당은 2차종합특검법을 처리할 방침이다.그러나 2차종합특검법 처리를 위한 국회 법제사법위원회 전체회의는 이날 이재명 대통령 방중 일정 등으로 인해 순연됐다.당초 민주당은 5~7일 법사위 전체회의와 소위원회 등을 거쳐 2차종합특검법을 본회의에 회부하겠다고 밝힌 바 있다.
