개인정보 유출 사고에 대해 '1인당 최대 5만원' 보상안을 발표했던 쿠팡이 구매 이용권 지급을 시작했다.보상안 발표 당시 '마케팅용' 비판을 받은 쿠팡이 저가 상품을 대폭 보강했지만 여전히 쿠팡이츠 이용 시 포장 주문에선 적용이 제한되는 등의 문제로 지적이 잇따르고 있다.
15일 업계에 따르면 쿠팡은 이날 오전 10시부터 개인정보 유출 통지를 받은 3370만명의 고객에게 1인당 5만원의 구매 이용권을 차례로 지급했다.쿠팡 애플리케이션(앱)에 접속하는 고객에게 본인이 지급 대상인지를 확인하도록 한 뒤 구매이용권을 지급하는 방식이다.문자메시지·이메일을 보내 사용을 안내할 계획이다.
구매이용권은 총 4가지다.쿠팡 전 상품(5000원),쿠팡트래블 숙박·티켓 상품(2만원),BET16 먹튀알럭스 뷰티·패션 상품(2만원),쿠팡이츠 배달·쇼핑(5000원) 등이다.이용권은 탈퇴 회원에게도 지급된다.
앞서 쿠팡은 지난달 29일 보상안을 발표한 직후 "사실상 마케팅용 쿠폰 아니냐"는 비판을 받았다.뷰티·패션 상품 중심의 알럭스는 가격대가 높고 쿠팡트래블은 비싼 상품만 있는 것 아니냐는 지적이었다.이에 쿠팡은 보상안의 취지에 맞게 주요 카테고리에서 5000원,2만원 전후로 고객들이 사용할 수 있는 상품을 늘렸다.다만 아쉬움의 목소리도 나온다.유료 멤버십을 구독한 와우 회원은 최소 주문 금액 조건이 없지만 일반 회원은 1만9800원 이상(로켓배송),2만9800원 이상(로켓직구) 구매할 경우에 구매이용권을 사용할 수 있다.사용 기간도 4월 15일까지로 제한됐으며,이 기간이 지나면 소멸된다.
유통업계에서는 쿠팡이 일정한 사용 기간을 정해 상품 구매이용권을 지급하는 업계의 관행을 따른 것으로 보고 있다.도서와 분유,상품권 등 쿠팡 상품과 쿠팡트래블 내 호텔 뷔페와 E쿠폰 등을 구매할 땐 이용권 사용이 불가능하다.사기범죄에 악용될 우려가 있다는 이유다.쿠팡이츠 주문 시에도 매장별 최소 주문 금액 이상을 주문해야 사용할 수 있다.
