미국이 베네수엘라와 연계된 러시아 국적 유조선을 2주 넘게 추적해 북대서양에서 나포했습니다.미국은 이렇게 제재로 막힌 베네수엘라 원유는 미국이 인수해 팔겠다 했는데,러시아가 반발하면서 신경전이 벌어졌습니다.
워싱턴 김용태 특파원의 보도입니다.

미군 유럽사령부는 미국 제재 위반으로 유조선 벨라 1호를 나포했다고 밝혔습니다.
나포 지점은 아이슬란드와 영국 사이 북대서양으로 연방법원에서 영장을 발부받았다고 말했습니다.
이 유조선은 지난달 21일,미 해안경비대 승선을 거부하며 도주했습니다.
이란에서 출발해 원유를 싣기 위해 베네수엘라로 들어가던 중 단속됐으며 이후 선체에 러시아 국기를 그리고 러시아 국적으로 변경했지만 미국은 2주 이상 추적했고 영국도 협력했습니다.
미국은 국제 제재를 위반해 러시아,이란,베네수엘라 등의 원유를 불법 운송해 온 그림자 선단이라고 판단했습니다.

미국에 추적 중단을 요청하기도 했던 러시아는 어떤 국가도 다른 국가에 등록된 선박에 무력을 사용할 권리가 없다고 반발했습니다.
미국은 해당 선박을 무국적 선박으로 보고 있어서 양측이 신경전이 계속될 전망입니다.
또 미군 남부사령부는 카리브해에서 역시 베네수엘라와 연관된 다른 유조선 1척을 나포했다고 발표했습니다.
이렇게 합법적 수출이 막힌 베네수엘라산 원유는 미국이 인수해 시장에 팔기로 했습니다.
3천만 배럴~5천만 배럴을 인수해 시가로 팔겠다는 것입니다.
