경찰이 대규모 개인정보 유출 사태를 빚은 쿠팡에 대해 60% 이상의 내부자료를 확보했다고 밝혔다.경찰은 쿠팡에 대한 압수수색을 6일째 진행했다.
박정보 서울경찰청장은 15일 정례 기자간담회에서 “압수물을 분석해 유출 경로와 침입자 등을 확인하고 쿠팡 측에도 개인정보보호 관련 잘못된 부분이 있는지 들여다보겠다”고 말했다.
이어 “2차 피해는 현재 상황에선 우리도 확인이 어려운 상황”이라며 “유출된 자료도 원본 그대로 범죄에 악용될 수도 있고 가공돼서 활용될 수도 있다.지금 상황에선 2차 피해가 없다고 확인하기 어렵고 지켜봐야 한다”고 전했다.
경찰은 9일부터 서울 송파구 쿠팡 본사 사무실에 대한 압수수색을 진행 중이다.경찰은 14일을 제외하고 매일 쿠팡 본사에서 압수수색을 집행하고 있다.서울경찰청 사이버수사과는 이날 오전 9시30분 쯤 수사관 11명을 동원해 송파구 쿠팡 본사 사무실에 대한 압수수색을 재개했다.
경찰은 12일 오후 기준으로 약 60%의 수사 자료를 확보한 상황이다.수사 첫날엔 경찰과 쿠팡 측이 압수수색 범위에 이견이 있었으나 이후 의견이 정리된 것으로 전해진다.
경찰청에 따르면 입건된 피의자는 1명이고 범인이라고 단정할 순 없다는 설명이다.쿠팡의 개인정보 유출 관련 입건된 용의자는 중국 국적으로 알려진 전직 직원 A씨 1명이다.박 청장은 “A씨 신병확보를 위해 필요한 절차를 적극 진행하고 있다”며 “피의자 조사를 위해 우리가 할 수 있는 최대한 조치를 하고 있다”고 강조했다.
한편 쿠팡이 사건 초기 밝힌 피해 규모는 4500여명 수준이었다.그러나 유출 계정 수는 3370만개로 늘어났다.쿠팡 측은 이번 사태와 관련해 개인정보보호법 위반 등 혐의로 고발돼 피고발인 상태다.
