우리나라 사람들이 하루에 섭취하는‘당’의 주요 급원식품 1위가 사과로 나타났다.뒤이어 탄산음료,우유가 상위권에 올랐다.다만 전문가들은 과일의 당과 가공식품의 당을 단순 비교하기보다 실제 혈당을 얼마나 빠르게 올리는지까지 함께 봐야 한다고 강조한다.

질병관리청이 15일 1세 이상 6802명을 대상으로 분석한 최신 국민건강통계에 따르면 2024년 기준 당 섭취 주요 급원식품 1위는 사과였다.사과를 통한 1일 당 섭취량은 3.93g,섭취 분율(하루 당 섭취량에서 차지하는 비중)은 6.9%로 집계됐다.2위는 탄산음료(3.55g·6.2%),3위는 우유(3.40g·5.9%)였다.

에너지 섭취의 핵심 식품은 여전히 멥쌀이었다.멥쌀을 통한 1일 에너지 섭취량은 428.5㎉,섭취 분율은 23.2%로 1위를 차지했다.뒤이어 돼지고기(101.9㎉·5.5%),빵(68.6㎉·3.7%) 순으로 나타났다.

단백질과 지방 섭취의 중심도 돼지고기였다.단백질 급원식품 1위는 돼지고기(8.82g·12.3%)였고,2위는 멥쌀(8.02g·11.2%),3위는 닭고기(6.99g·9.7%)였다.지방 급원식품 역시 돼지고기(6.75g·12.9%)가 1위였으며 소고기(5.20g·9.9%),콩기름(4.00g·7.6%)이 뒤를 이었다.

나트륨은‘소금·김치·간장’이 상위권을 차지했다.소금을 통한 1일 나트륨 섭취량은 490.4㎎으로 전체의 15.6%를 차지했고,룰렛 무조건 이기는법(배추)김치 357.5㎎(11.4%),간장 325.8㎎(10.4%) 순이었다.

다만 당 급원식품 1위가 사과라는 결과를 두고 섣불리 과일을 당의 주범으로 몰아가서는 곤란하다는 지적이 나온다.오승원 서울대병원 가정의학과 교수는 “당 급원식품으로서 과일과 빵,탄산음료를 동일선상에 놓고 비교하기는 어렵다”며 “단순한 섭취량보다 혈당지수(GI),혈당부하지수(GL)까지 고려해 식품 섭취를 조절해야 한다”고 말했다.사과는 GI·GL이 비교적 낮고 섬유질과 항산화 물질이 있어,탄산음료처럼 혈당을 급격히 끌어올리는‘스파이크’위험이 상대적으로 낮다는 설명이다.
