백해룡 경정의 폭로로 촉발된 이른바‘세관 마약수사 외압 의혹’에 대해 검경 합동수사단이 “사실무근”이라는 결론을 내리고 세관 직원 등을 무혐의 처분했다.
서울동부지검‘인천 세관 마약수사 외압 의혹 합동수사단’은 9일 중간 수사결과를 발표해 “세관 직원들이 마약밀수 범행을 도운 사실이 없다고 판단해 혐의없음 처분했다”고 밝혔다.
경찰청과 관세청 지휘부가 영등포서의 마약밀수 사건에 수사 외압을 행사했다는 의혹에 대해서도 “대통령실의 개입과 관련자들의 위법 행위가 확인되지 않았다”며 모두 혐의없음 처분했다.
마약을 밀수한 범죄단체 조직원 6명과 한국인 국내 유통책 2명은 범죄단체활동 및 특정범죄가중처벌법상 향정 혐의 등으로 재판에 넘겼다.
해외에 체류 중인 것으로 파악된 조직원 8명은 인적사항을 파악해 체포영장을 발부받아 기소중지 처분했다.
