(서울=뉴스1) 박동해 기자 = 경찰이 세계평화통일가정연합(통일교)의 정관계 로비 의혹을 수사 중인 가운데,한학자 총재가 김규환 대한석탄공사 사장(전 미래통합당 의원)에게 현금을 직접 건넸다는 내용이 압수수색 영장에 포함된 것으로 확인됐다.
16일 경찰 등에 따르면 통일교 불법 자금 수수 의혹을 수사 중인 경찰청 국가수사본부 특별전담수사팀은 김 전 의원에 대한 압수수색 영장에 '2020년 4월 총선 무렵 한 총재가 가평 천정궁에서 김 전 의원에게 현금 3000만 원이 든 상자를 건넸다'고 적시한 것으로 알려졌다.
경찰은 당시 한 총재가 윤영호 전 통일교 세계본부장과 함께 김 전 의원을 만나 '총선을 위해 잘 사용하라'는 취지의 발언을 한 것으로 파악하고 있다.
경찰은 통일교 측이 숙원 사업인 '한·일 해저터널' 등의 추진과 관련해 정부 정책 협조 및 규제 완화를 목적으로 정치권에 로비를 시도한 것으로 보고 있다.
이에 대해 김 전 의원은 혐의를 전면 부인하고 있다.김 전 의원은 지난 15일 경찰청 앞에서 기자회견을 열고 "통일교로부터 불법적인 돈을 받은 사실이 없다"고 진술했다.
김 전 의원 측은 영장에 적시된 금품 제공 시점 등이 이치에 맞지 않는다며 한 총재를 만난 사실도 없다고 밝혔다.이어 김 전 의원 측은 의혹이 불거진 여당 의원 등에 쏠린 관심을 돌리기 위한 무리한 기획 수사라고 항변하기도 했다.
