[더팩트 | 정병근 기자] 일론 머스크 테슬라 최고경영자(CEO)가 세계 최초로 개인 재산 7000억달러(약 1036조원)를 돌파했다.

20일(현지시간) 로이터통신은 포브스 억만장자 인덱스를 인용해 머스크의 개인 재산이 7490억달러(약 1109조원)로 급증했다고 보도했다.더불어 개인 재산이 7000억달러를 넘어선 사상 첫 사례라고 전했다.

머스크의 재산이 급증한 건 델라웨어주(州) 대법원이 19일 테슬라의 2018년 CEO 보상안 관련 상고심에서 원고인 소액주주의 청구를 기각하고 스톡옵션 부여를 포함한 CEO 보상안을 인정하면서다.

스톡옵션의 규모는 테슬라 발행 주식의 약 9%에 해당하며 현재 주가로 계산했을 때 가치는 1390억달러(205조 원)에 달한다.테슬라 주가는 2018년 주당 약 20달러에서 현재 500달러 가까이로 치솟았고 머스크의 스톡옵션 가치도 천정부지로 뛰었다.

이로써 머스크와 세계 2위 부자인 래리 페이지 구글 공동창립자의 재산 격차는 20일 기준으로 약 5000억달러(740조원)로 벌어졌다.

머스크의 재산은 더 늘어날 전망이다.지난달 테슬라 주주총회에서 머스크 CEO가 시가총액 8조5000억달러 등 경영 목표를 달성할 경우 세계 기업 역사상 최대 규모인 1조달러(1480조원)의 보상을 제공하자는 계획이 통과됐다.
