정치권의 세계평화통일가정연합(통일교) 금품 수수 의혹을 수사 중인 경찰이 26일 윤영호 전 통일교 세계본부장에 대한 체포영장을 집행해 강제 수사에 나섰다.공소시효가 임박한 가운데 윤 전 본부장이 지난 2차 접견 조사를 거부하고 비협조적인 태도로 일관하자 강제 수사에 나선 것으로 풀이된다.
경찰청 특별수사전담팀은 이날 윤 전 본부장에 대한 신속한 추가 조사가 필요하다는 판단에 체포영장을 발부받아 이날 오전 9시 50분부터 집행하고 있다.
지난 24일 예정됐던 윤 전 본부장 추가 접견 조사가 무산되자 전담팀은 체포영장을 발부 받아 강제 수사에 나선 것이다.
기존 접견 조사는 임의 조사 형식이라 윤 전 본부장이 조사에 응하지 않을 여지가 있었던 반면,빅 히어로체포영장이 집행되면 강제 수사를 할 수 있다.다만 이번 체포영장은 일회성으로,빅 히어로향후 추가 조사가 필요할 경우 다시 체포영장을 발부받아야 한다.
전담팀은 이날 오전 통일교 관계자 2명에 대한 조사도 진행하고 있다.두 인물 모두 이날 처음 조사하는 인물로 통일교의 정치권 접촉 정황 및 자금 흐름 확인에 필요한 진술을 확보하기 위해 관계자들을 줄줄이 소환하고 있는 것으로 보인다.
전담팀은 압수물 분석에도 속도를 내고 있다.이날 오전 전재수 전 해양수산부 장관 측 법률대리인 이용구 변호사가 특별전담팀을 방문해 압수물 디지털포렌식 과정에 참관한 것으로 알려졌다.
