[헤럴드경제(부산)=이주현 기자] 부산시는 오는 19일 오후 2시 부산공동어시장 현대화사업(이하 현대화사업) 착공식을 개최한다고 18일 밝혔다.
착공식에는 박형준 부산시장,최현호 해양수산부 수산정책실장,정연송 부산공동어시장 대표이사,지역 국회의원,불법 카지노시·구의원,수협중앙회장,지역 주민 등 300여명이 참석한다.
이날 착공식은 부산시장 및 부산공동어시장 대표이사의 기념사와 주요 내빈의 축사 순으로 진행되며,착공식 터치버튼 세리머니를 통해 부산공동어시장 현대화 사업의 시작을 공식화할 예정이다.
부산공동어시장은 1973년 현재 위치에 개장한 이후 반세기 동안 부산 수산업의 중심지 역할을 해왔다.국내 최대 규모의 선어 위판장이자 국가 수산물 유통의 핵심 거점인 부산공동어시장은 그동안 시설 노후화와 낙후된 물류·위생 환경으로 인해 현대화 필요성이 꾸준히 제기돼 왔다.
이에 따라 부산공동어시장은 개장 이후 첫 전면 재건축을 진행한다.노후 시설과 비위생적인 개방형 경매 환경을 개선하고 밀폐형 저온 위판장으로 전환하는 현대화사업을 추진한다.자동 선별기 도입 등 물류 자동화 시스템을 구축해 작업 효율성과 위생 수준을 동시에 끌어올릴 계획이다.
현대화사업은 연면적 6만1971㎡ 부지에 총사업비 2422억원을 투입해 지하 1층,지상 5층 규모의 안전하고 선진화된 어시장을 조성하는 것이 핵심이다.사업비는 국비 1655억원,시비 509억원,어시장 자부담 258억원으로 구성된다.
이번 사업은 기존 구조적 한계를 해소하기 위한 첫 전면 재건축이라는 점에서 의미가 크다.공사는 위판 기능을 유지하기 위해 비수기를 중심으로 47개월간 3단계로 나눠 진행된다.
이와 함께 어시장 내 휴게형 관람 라운지와 옥외 바다 전망 산책로를 조성해 이용객 편의도 한층 향상될 것으로 기대된다
