주춤했던 광주·전남 행정통합 논의가 다시 급부상하고 있습니다.
이재명 정부의 이른바 '5극 3특 균형발전 전략'에 맞춰 대전·충남이 통합을 적극 추진하는 가운데,광주·전남도 속도를 내기 시작했습니다.
강기정 광주시장과 김영록 전남지사가 행정통합을 바로 추진하자며 한 목소리를 냈습니다.

화두는 광주전남 행정통합이었습니다.

강기정 광주시장과 김영록 전남지사가 즉각 화답했습니다.
강기정 시장은 이재명 정부가 기회를 줄 때 잡아야한다며 추진단을 구성해 '바로 지금' 행정통합을 추진하자고 강조했습니다.
내년 지방선거에서 통합단체장을 뽑는 것도 고려하고 있다고 말했습니다.

김 지사도 내년 6월 지방선거 전까지 행정통합을 추진하기 위해 노력하겠다며 '행정통합추진협의체' 구성을 제안했습니다.
