미국이 대만에 하이마스(HIMARS·고속기동포병로켓시스템)와 자폭 드론,대전차미사일 등 한화 16조원 규모 무기를 판매하기로 했다고 대만 외교부가 오늘(18일) 밝혔습니다.

대만 외교부에 따르면 미국 정부는 대만에 111억540만달러(약 16조4천억원) 규모의 무기를 판매할 예정이라고 의회에 알렸습니다.

대만 외교부는 미국 정부로부터 이런 사실을 통지받았습니다.

미국의 판매 대상 무기에는 우크라이나전쟁에서 활용된 다연장로켓 하이마스를 비롯해 M107A7 자주포,공격용 자폭 무인기(드론) 알티우스-700M과 알티우스-600,대전차미사일 재블린,대전차미사일 TOW 등이 포함됩니다.

또 전술 임무 네트워크 소프트웨어와 AH-1W 헬기 예비·정비 부품,보드게임 전략게임대함미사일 하푼의 정비 후속 지원도 패키지에 들어갔습니다.

대만 외교부는 "트럼프 정부 2기에서 발표된 두 번째 대(對)대만 무기 판매"라며 "미국이 '대만관계법' 및 '6항 보증'에 따라 대만에 대한 안보 약속을 굳게 이행하고 있고,대만에 대한 무기 판매 상설화 정책을 계속해 대만이 충분한 방위 능력을 유지하고 강한 억지 전력을 구축하도록 협조하고 있음을 다시금 보여줬다"고 강조했습니다.
