A씨는 지난 2024년 5월 강원 영동지역에 있는 자신의 자택에서 남편 B(81)씨와 말다툼하다가 목을 졸라 살해한 혐의를 받는다.
당초 경찰은 B씨가 스스로 목을 졸라 사망한 것으로 추정됨으로 '입건 전 조사 종결' 의견을 제시했다.
그러나 검찰은 사건 현장에 자살 도구가 확인되지 않고,자살 흔적이 부족해 보여 추가 수사할 필요가 있다고 판단해 보완 수사 의견을 제시했다.
이에 경찰은 보완 수사를 통해 사건 당일 B씨와 함께 있던 A씨로부터 살인 혐의를 자백받았다.
