금융 사무 자동화기기 전문 업체인 메카트로가 경영권 매각을 추진 중이다.기업가치는 약 1500억원 안팎으로 알려졌다.
19일 투자은행(IB) 업계에 따르면,메카트로 최대주주인 김미경씨 등은 경영권 매각을 위해 복수의 사모펀드(PEF) 운용사와 협의 중이다.김미경씨 등 특수관계자가 지분 63.89%를,김희동 대표이사가 10.13%를 보유하고 있다.
메카트로는 1991년 4월 설립돼 서울 가산디지털단지에 본사를 두고 있는 비상장사다.대량의 지폐를 효율적으로 처리하고 위조지폐를 감별할 수 있는 기기,자동화기기(ATM)에 들어가는 지폐자동인식모듈 등을 제조해 세계 80여개국 금융·유통업체·카지노 등에 납품하고 있다.1999년에는 기업부설연구소를 설립해 산업용 복합 프린터 등을 개발해 왔다.
메카트로의 실적은 매년 꾸준히 개선돼 왔다.지난해 매출액은 430억원,영업이익은 134억원 수준이었다.매각가는 상각전영업이익(EBITDA)의 6~8배,홀덤 바최대 1500억원 안팎에서 정해질 것으로 알려졌다.
업계에서는 메카트로가 금융권 현금 처리 자동화 분야에서 비교적 안정적인 수요 기반을 갖고 있다는 점에 주목한다.영업이익률도 30%가 넘어,홀덤 바높은 수익성이 큰 강점이다.그 외에도 모듈·부품 사업의 진입장벽이 높다는 점이 투자 매력으로 꼽힌다.
