정부가 법무연수원 연구위원 검사의 정원을 2배 가까이 늘리는 방안을 추진한다.법무연수원 연구위원은 검찰 내에선 '검사장 좌천 인사' 자리로 꼽혀 법조계에선 갖가지 해석이 나온다.

28일 법조계에 따르면 행정안전부는 지난 24일 법무연수원 연구위원을 기존 12명에서 23명으로 총 11명 증원한다는 내용의 '법무부와 그 소속 기관 직제(대통령령)' 일부 개정령안을 입법예고했다.

증원 대상은 고위공무원단에 속하는 일반직 공무원 또는 검사 5명,검사 6명이다.

행안부는 "법무행정 서비스 향상을 위한 연구 기능을 강화한다"고 밝혔다.의견수렴 기간은 오는 29일까지다.

법무연수원 연구위원은 법무·검찰의 중요 업무 정책과 관련한 연구를 담당하지만 법무·검찰 소속 직원 연수 및 재교육 기관 특성상 수사·기소 등 실무를 직접 맡지 않는다.

검찰 내에서는 '검사장 좌천 인사' 자리로 불리는 한직이기 때문에,법조계 일각에선 법무부가 향후 인사에서 좌천 대상들을 압박하거나,토토 빚 갚는 법보낼 자리를 늘리려는 목적 아니냐는 해석도 나온다.
