[헤럴드경제=권제인 기자] 현대자동차는 최진성 서대문중앙지점 영업이사가 최초로 누적 판매 8000대를 달성했다고 10일 밝혔다.
1996년 입사한 이후 약 30년간 연평균 267대를 판매한 최진성 영업이사는 지난 2018년 누적 판매 5000대를 달성해‘판매거장’칭호를 획득한 바 있다.지난 2023년 6월에는 역대 두 번째로 누적 판매 7000대를 달성했다.아울러 연간 판매 대수에 따라 전국 1~10위 직원을 선정해 포상하는‘전국판매왕’에도 17회 연속 선정됐다.
최진성 영업이사는 누적 8000대를 판매할 수 있었던 비결에 대해 “판매를 하루도 거를 수 없는 끼니라고 생각했기에 달성할 수 있던 기록”이라며 “매일매일 밥 먹듯이 판매를 해야 한다고 생각한다”고 밝혔다.
이어 가장 기억에 남는 순간으로 교통사고로 3번의 수술을 받았던 1998년을 꼽으며 “입원을 한 상황에서도 의사와 환자들에게 차량을 판매하며 늘 한결같은 꾸준함의 중요성을 배웠다”고 말했다.
최 영업이사는 8000대 달성의 포상금인 2000만원을 출신 고등학교에 기부할 계획이다.최 영업이사가 출신 고교에 기부한 금액은 20년간 누적 1억4000만 원에 달한다.
