20일 정부가 카페나 식당에서 플라스틱 일회용 컵을 이용하면 별도 비용을 내고 구매해야 한다는 방침을 발표한 데 대해 송언석 국민의힘 원내대표가 “이재명 발(發) 커피 인플레이션”이라고 비판했다.
송 원내대표는 이날 자신의 페이스북에 “이재명 정부가 또다시 현실을 외면한 탁상행정으로 민생 부담을 키우고 있다”며 “일회용 컵과 빨대 사용을 줄이겠다는 취지라지만 그 비용과 혼란은 고스란히 국민과 소상공인에게 전가된다”는 내용의 글을 게시했다.
이어 “이미 커피 가격에는 컵·뚜껑·빨대 비용이 포함돼 있는데 여기에 별도의‘컵값’을 얹겠다는 것은 사실상의 가격 인상”이라며 “혼잡한 출근 시간과 점심시간마다 빨대 제공 여부를 두고 실랑이가 벌어지고 버블티처럼 빨대 없이는 마시기 어려운 음료를 놓고 갈등이 번복될 것이다.이것이 바로 현장을 모르는 이재명 정부식 탁상행정의 민낯”이라고 말했다.
김성환 기후에너지환경부 장관은 지난 17일 대통령 업무보고에서 플라스틱 일회용 컵을 무상으로 제공하지 않고 유상으로 구매하도록 하는 방안을 연내 발표할 탈플라스틱 종합대책에 담겠다고 밝혔다.김성환 기후부 장관은 “플라스틱 컵 가격은 점주나 업체에서 정하되 100~200원 정도는 되도록 최소한 생산원가를 반영한 최저선은 설정할 계획”이라고 말했다.
현재도‘일회용 컵 보증금제’가 존재하고 있지만 유명무실하다.윤석열 정부 당시 환경부(현 기후에너지환경부)는 식당,카페 등 식품접객업과 집단급식소에서 시행해 온 일회용 종이컵 사용금지 조치를 철회하고 일회용 플라스틱 빨대와 젓는 막대,비닐봉지 등에 대한 계도기간을 무기한 연장했다.
