미국 캘리포니아주에서 테슬라의 '자율주행' 광고가 소비자를 오도해 주(州)법을 위반했다는 이유로 테슬라의 차량 제조·판매를 한 달간 중단시킬 수 있는 판결이 나온 가운데 당국은 테슬라에 시정할 기회를 부여하며 법원의 영업 정지 명령을 유예했다.

17일(현지시간) 미 캘리포니아주 차량관리국(DMV)에 따르면 주(州) 행정판사는 DMV가 테슬라를 상대로 제기한 소송 심리를 마친 뒤,테슬라가 자사 제품의 첨단주행보조기능(ADAS)을 설명하면서 "완전자율주행(Full Self-Driving,FSD) 능력",7포커 게임 하기"자동운항(autopilot,오토파일럿)"이라는 용어를 쓴 것은 사실과 다른 허위 광고라고 판단했다.

행정판사는 이런 광고가 소비자를 오도해 주(州) 법률을 위반했다고 결론 내리고 테슬라의 제조 면허와 딜러(판매) 면허를 30일간 정지하는 명령을 제안했다.
