KAI "자원순환 활동으로 탄소 중립 달성 위해 노력할 것" '2025 ESG 자원순환 어워즈'에서 기후에너지환경부 장관상을 수상한 KAI ⓒKAI[데일리안 = 고수정 기자] KAI(한국항공우주산업㈜)가‘2025 ESG 자원순환 어워즈’에서 기후에너지환경부 장관상을 수상했다고 26일 밝혔다. 
이날 KAI에 따르면,KAI는 24일 서울 종로구 포시즌스 호텔에서 열린‘2025 ESG 자원순환 어워즈’에서 자원순환 동행 파트너사 우수 기업에 선정돼 기후에너지환경부 장관상을 수상했다.
이번 어워즈는 전자기기 및 제품 등의 자원순환을 실천하는 문화 확산을 위해 기후에너지환경부와 이순환거버넌스가 주최한 행사로서,자원순환 관리체계 구축과 재활용 실적 등에 대한 심사를 거쳐 공공과 민간 부분 각 10개 기관이 선정됐다.KAI는 방산업체 가운데 유일하게 장관상을 수상했다.
KAI는 2023년 4월 이순환거버넌스와‘전기·전자제품 자원순환 실천 업무협약’체결을 시작으로‘모두비움 ESG 나눔’프로그램에 참여하여 친환경 자원순환 사회에 참여하는 기업으로 발돋움하였다.
KAI는 올해 통신·사무기기 등 폐전기·전자제품 27톤 가량 이순환거버넌스 측에 전달하는 성과를 거뒀다.이는 전년대비 55% 증가한 수치이다.이를 통해 순환자원 26.60톤을 생산하고,프라그마틱 무료체험온실가스 51.35톤/CO₂-eq를 감축해,발생한 이익금 122만8500원을 초록우산 어린이재단에 기부할 예정이다.
KAI는 지난 10월‘세계 전자폐기물 없는 달’을 맞아‘모비카가 간다’캠페인을 진행했다.이순환거버넌스가 주최한 참여형 자원순환 캠페인으로,KAI 임직원은 사용하지 않는 폐전기·전자제품을 직접 배출하고,다양한 이벤트 활동에 참여하는 등 자원순환 문화 확산에 앞장섰다.
KAI 관계자는 “이번 수상은 KAI의 지속적인 자원순환 노력과 ESG 경영 의지를 공식적으로 인정받은 의미 있는 성과”라며 “앞으로도 책임 있는 자원순환 동행 파트너로서 더 큰 사회적 가치를 창출해 나가겠다”고 말했다..
