젠슨 황 엔비디아 최고경영자(CEO)가 이번 달 말 중국을 방문할 예정인 것으로 전해진다.대중 수출이 허용된 엔비디아의 인공지능(AI) 반도체‘H200’판매를 위한 활로를 모색하기 위한 것이란 관측이 제기된다.
21일(현지 시각) 블룸버그는 황 CEO가 중국 설 연휴를 앞두고 회사 행사에 참석할 계획이며 베이징도 찾을 것으로 전망된다고 보도했다.중국 당국의 고위 관계자들과 회동할지는 확정된 바 없으며,방중 일정은 회의 일정 조정에 따라 바뀔 수 있는 것으로 알려졌다.
황 CEO는 중국에 대한 AI 칩 수출 통제에 반대하며 중국 시장을 다시 개척해야 한다고 여러 차례 강조해왔던 만큼,중국 수출을 재개하기 위해 이번 방문을 추진한 것으로 풀이된다.황 CEO는 매년 1월 중국을 정기적으로 방문했다.작년 1월에도 중국 엔비디아 직원들을 만나는 일정 때문에 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령의 2기 취임식에 불참했다.
H200은 지난해 말 대중 수출이 허용됐고,중국 당국은 이르면 올해 1분기에 H200 수입 승인 결정을 내릴 것으로 전해졌다.중국 당국이 얼마나 많은 물량의 H200 수입을 허용할지는 알려진 바가 없으나 군대,중요 기반 시설,Stake Stake국영기업 등에서는 H200 사용을 금지할 것이란 분석이 나온다.
