미국의 한 증권 집단소송 전문 로펌에 올라온 공지문입니다.
2025년 8월 6일부터 12월 16일까지 쿠팡 주식을 매수한 투자자들을 대리해 집단소송을 제기한다는 내용입니다.
현지 시각 지난 18일,헝가리 카지노 후기쿠팡 모회사인 쿠팡 아이엔씨의 주주 조셉 베리가 미국 캘리포니아 북부연방법원에 쿠팡 법인과 김범석 의장 등을 상대로 증권 집단소송을 제기했습니다.
소장에는 이번 쿠팡 정보 유출 사태가 "한국 역사상 최대 규모의 개인정보 유출 사고로 평가된다"며 쿠팡이 관련 사실을 제때 공시하지 않아 투자자들이 손해를 입었다고 주장했습니다.
쿠팡은 지난달 18일 개인정보 유출 사실을 알고서도 지난 15일에야 미국 증권 당국에 정식 공시했는데,이는 4영업일 내에 공시해야 하는 의무를 위반했다는 것입니다.

- "유출된 데이터는 고도의 민감 정보로 분류되지 않으며,이에 따라 이번 사고와 관련해 공시할 의무는 없었습니다."
뉴욕증시에서 쿠팡 주가는 정보 유출이 알려지기 하루 전인 지난달 28일 28.16달러에서 지난주 23.2달러로 마감하며 18%나 떨어졌습니다.
이번 소송은 미국 증권법에 따른 주주 집단소송으로 소비자의 정보유출 피해를 다투는 소비자 집단소송과는 구분됩니다.
소송 신청 마감이 내년 2월 17일인 만큼 소송 참여자들은 계속 늘어날 전망입니다.
