이 시장은 "용인 반도체 클러스터 조성에 재를 뿌리는 주장들은 사리에 맞지 않을 뿐더러 국내외 현실도 모르는 우매함의 소치"라며 "내년 지방선거에서 일부 지역의 표를 얻어보겠다며 정치적 술수를 부리는 것으로 보인다"고 지적했다.그러면서 그는 "국정 운영을 책임진 여권 일각에서 터무니없는 주장이 나올수록 정부와 여당에 대한 국민의 신뢰는 떨어질 것"이라고 강조했다.
