달빛어린이병원은 응급실 외 평일 야간 시간대와 휴일(토·일·공휴일)에 소아 경증 환자를 대상으로 외래진료를 제공하는 병원이다.

강서구 두 병원은 평일 오후 11시까지,토·일·공휴일 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지 운영되며,야간·휴일에 발생하는 소아 경증 환자를 진료한다.

기존 달빛어린이병원인 '명지아동병원'은 2024년 2월부터 토·일·공휴일에 한해 진료를 제공해 왔지만 이날부터 평일 야간까지 포함한 전일제 운영으로 전환된다.

현재 시가 지정 운영 중인 달빛어린이병원은 총 9곳이다.

조규율 시 시민건강국장은 "앞으로도 지역 여건과 의료 이용 패턴을 촘촘히 분석해 소아 응급의료 기반을 단계적으로 확충하고,부모와 아이 모두가 안심하고 진료받을 수 있는 의료환경을 지속적으로 마련해 나가겠다"고 전했다.
