신형 호위함 건조 계획 발표서 한화 언급

트럼프 대통령은 22일(현지시간) 백악관에서 신형 호위함 건조 계획을 설명하며 "해군은 한국 기업 한화와 협력할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
트럼프는 특히 미국의 군사적 주도권을 강화하기 위해 '황금함대'(Golden Fleet)를 만들겠다고 밝혔는데 신형 호위함 계획 역시 그 구상 중에 하나다.
이번 발언으로 한국이 미국과의 무역 협상 과정에서 약속한 1500억 달러 규모의 조선업 투자 패키지가 미 해군 전력 강화에 활용될 가능성도 주목받고 있다.해당 패키지는 미국 조선업 재건을 지원하기 위한 투자·대출·보증 형태의 '마스가(MASGA)'로,사설토토아직 첫 투자 대상은 확정되지 않았다.
미 해군은 미국 최대 군함 조선사인 헌팅턴 잉걸스(HII)와 함께 2028년 진수를 목표로 첫 호위함을 건조할 계획이다.

이에 따라 한화오션이 투자해 운영 중인 필리조선소가 호위함 건조에 참여할 가능성이 거론된다.트럼프 대통령은 직접 필라델피아 조선소를 언급하며 재가동을 강조했고,미 해군 장관 역시 미국 전역 조선소에 일자리가 창출될 것이라고 밝혔다.한화가 최근 최대 주주로 올라선 호주 방산 조선업체 오스탈을 통한 간접 협력 가능성도 제기된다.
다만 미 해군 함정의 해외 건조를 원칙적으로 제한하는 법적 장벽은 여전히 남아 있다.트럼프 대통령이 서명한 2026회계연도 국방수권법(NDAA)엔 외국 건조 금지의 원칙이 담겨 있다.이에 따라 한국 조선소에서 직접 미 해군 함정을 건조할 가능성은 당분간 크지 않다는 관측이 나온다.
