공천헌금 1억원 수수 의혹을 받고 있는 강선우 무소속 의원이 21일 새벽 서울 마포구 서울경찰청 공공범죄수사대에 피의자 신분으로 조사를 마치고 밖으로 나서며 취재진의 질문에 답하고 있다.2026.01.21 뉴시스‘1억 원 공천 헌금’의혹으로 더불어민주당에서 제명된 강선우 의원이 21시간가량의 강도 높은 조사를 받고 21일 오전 5시 53분경 귀가했다. 
강 의원은 이날 서울 마포구 광역수사단 앞에서 취재진에 “성실하게 사실대로 최선을 다해서 조사에 임했다”며 “이런 일로 국민들께 심려를 끼쳐 죄송하다”고 했다.이어 “남아 있는 수사에도 지금처럼 최선을 다해서 성실하게 사실대로 임하겠다”고 했다.
다만‘공천됐는데 돈은 왜 돌려줬나‘지방선거 앞두고 김경 시의원은 왜 만났나‘1억 원 전세 자금으로 쓰신 거 맞느냐‘대질조사 응하실 생각도 있나’등 취재진 질문에는 일절 답하지 않았다.
강 의원은 지방선거를 앞둔 2022년 4월경 민주당 서울시당 공천관리위원을 맡아 김경 서울시의원으로부터 공천 대가로 1억 원을 받았다가 돌려준 혐의를 받고 있다.강 의원은 그간 “전직 사무국장 남모 씨로부터 보고받기 전에는 1억 원 수수 사실을 전혀 인지하지 못했다”고 주장해 왔다.
하지만 강 의원에 앞서 세 차례 경찰 조사를 받은 김 시의원은 “강 의원을 서울 용산구 하얏트호텔 1층 카페에서 만나 직접 돈을 전달했다”는 취지로 진술한 것으로 알려졌다.경찰은 또 강 의원이 김 시의원에게 받은 1억 원을 전세금에 보탰다는 취지의 진술도 확보한 것으로 전해졌다.
경찰은 이번 조사에서 강 의원을 상대로 1억 원의 대가성 여부와 사용 및 반환 과정 등에 대해 캐물은 것으로 알려졌다.강 의원은 조사에서‘대가성 금품 수수가 아니었다’는 취지로 혐의를 부인한 것으로 전해졌다.이에 경찰은 김 시의원 등 당사자와의 대질신문도 검토 중이다.
