임광현 국세청장이 2026년 새해를 맞아 조세정의 확립과 국세행정의 인공지능(AI) 대전환을 선언했다.개청 60주년을 맞는 올해를 '국세행정 미래를 향한 새로운 도약의 원년'으로 삼겠다는 포부도 밝혔다.
임 청장은 2일 발표한 신년사에서 "올해는 목표를 향해 질주하는 붉은 말의 해"라며 "공정하고 합리적이며 미래를 준비하는 국세행정을 위해 전 직원이 한마음으로 뛰어달라"고 당부했다.
그는 특히 133만 체납자의 실태를 직접 확인하는 '국세 체납관리단'의 성공적인 정착을 강조했다.고의적 재산 은닉자에 대해서는 특별기동반 가동과 해외징수 공조 등 모든 수단을 동원해 끝까지 추적·환수하겠다는 강력한 의지다.
사회적 공분을 일으키는 탈세 행위에 대해서도 척결 의지를 분명히 했다.임 청장은 구체적인 대상으로 △사주일가의 불공정 탈세(터널링) △고수익 유튜버의 은닉 소득 △민생침해 탈세 △부동산 변칙 탈세 △다국적기업의 역외탈세 등을 꼽으며 "강력히 대응해 다시는 발붙일 수 없도록 하겠다"고 경고했다.
기술 혁신을 강조한 부분도 눈에 띈다.임 청장은 '국세행정 AI 대전환'을 핵심 과제로 제시하며 "올해 완성될 AI 종합계획을 토대로 세계 최고의 K-AI 세정을 구현하겠다"고 말했다.시스템과 데이터,조직의 노하우를 융합해 납세 서비스의 질을 획기적으로 높이겠다는 구상이다.
경제 활력 제고를 위한 지원책도 내놨다.신설되는 '세금애로 해소센터'를 통해 중소기업과 소상공인에게 납기 연장 및 조기 환급 등 두터운 지원을 제공할 계획이다.수출 기업과 AI·바이오 등 신산업 분야에도 맞춤형 세정 지원을 선제적으로 제공한다.
