KGM 야심작 2026년형 무쏘 
KG모빌리티(KGM)가 새롭게 태어난 정통 픽업 무쏘(사진)를 공개했다.1993년부터 첫 무쏘 출시 이후 이어져 온 KGM 픽업의 역사와 정체성을 집약한 상징적 모델이다.
KGM은 29~30일 경기도 고양시 KGM 익스피리언스센터 일산에서 미디어 프리뷰를 열고 신형 무쏘를 처음 선보였다.무쏘는 KGM이 올해 1월 출범한 '무쏘' 브랜드의 대표 모델로 브랜드명과 차명을 동일하게 적용했다.신형 무쏘는 전면 디자인·파워트레인·데크·서스펜션까지 멀티 라인업을 구축해 활용 목적에 따라 구성을 고를 수 있도록 했다.일종의 다품종 소량 생산인 셈이다.
오프로드 성향을 강조한 정통 픽업 스타일과 도심 주행에 적합한 '그랜드 스타일' 패키지까지 다양한 선택지를 제공한다.파워트레인은 디젤과 가솔린 라인업으로 나뉜다.
첨단 안전·편의 사양도 대폭 끌어올렸다.인텔리전트 어댑티브 크루즈 컨트롤을 비롯한 첨단 운전자 보조시스템(ADAS),홀덤테이블 천갈이3차원 어라운드뷰,무선 소프트웨어 업데이트(OTA),애플 카플레이·안드로이드 오토 등 스포츠유틸리티차량(SUV)급 구성을 앞세워 픽업의 일상성을 강화했다.KGM은 "픽업 본연의 강인함에 현대적 기술과 편의성을 결합해 레저부터 비즈니스까지 폭넓은 실용성을 제공한다"고 설명했다.
KGM은 이번 무쏘를 사실상 풀 모델 체인지급으로 보고 있다고 강조했다.이원익 KGM 상품전략실 책임매니저는 "픽업 인테리어 트렌드는 험로 주행이 많은 특성상 센터 내비게이션 중심 설계가 일반적"이라며 "이미 검증된 구성을 무리하게 바꿔 가격 인상 요인을 키우기보다는 가격에 민감한 픽업 수요층의 부담을 낮추는 방향을 택했다"고 말했다.이어 "무쏘의 가장 큰 강점은 파워트레인,데크,홀덤테이블 천갈이서스펜션을 고객 용도에 맞게 고를 수 있는 멀티 라인업 전략"이라며 "사실상 맞춤형 픽업에 가깝다"고 덧붙였다.
KGM은 내년 1월 중 가격과 세부 사양을 공개한 뒤 본격 판매에 돌입할 계획이다.
