SK하이닉스는 18일 32기가비트(Gb) D램 칩을 적용한 256기가바이트(GB) DDR5 서버용 메모리 모듈이 인텔 최신 서버 중앙처리장치(CPU)인 제온 6과 함께 사용할 수 있다는 공식 인증을 업계 최초로 받았다고 밝혔다.

이번에 인증을 받은 제품은 서버와 워크스테이션에 쓰이는 등록형 듀얼 인라인 메모리 모듈(RDIMM)이다.RDIMM은 메모리와 CPU 사이에 신호를 중계하는 칩이 추가돼 대용량 데이터를 보다 안정적으로 처리할 수 있어 데이터센터 서버에 주로 사용된다.

SK하이닉스는 미국에 있는 인텔의 데이터센터 연구시설에서 성능과 호환성,슬롯 후기 디시품질에 대한 여러 단계의 평가를 거쳐 인증을 통과했다.회사는 앞서 올해 1월에도 한 단계 앞선 세대 공정인 1a 기반 256GB DDR5 서버용 메모리로 인텔의 같은 인증을 받은 바 있다.

SK하이닉스는 이번 인증으로 인텔의 최신 서버 플랫폼과 결합했을 때 신뢰성과 안정성을 모두 확인했다고 설명했다.이를 바탕으로 글로벌 데이터센터 사업자와의 협력을 확대하고 서버용 메모리 수요 증가에 대응할 계획이다.
